Stay in touch on a cruise without the Wi-Fi package
Ship Wi-Fi is expensive and cell service at sea is worse. TalkGroup lets your group talk push-to-talk between iPhones directly, with no internet at all.
TalkGroup is coming soon to the App Store.
Your group, on board
Splitting up on a big ship is easy. Finding each other again is not. TalkGroup connects the iPhones in your group directly, so you can talk without paying for Wi-Fi or roaming.
- No internet needed. No Wi-Fi package and no roaming charges.
- Quick signals. Send On my way or Meet here with one tap, with your location if you choose.
- No accounts. Everyone picks a name. No sign-ups, no phone numbers.
- Private. Your voice goes only between the phones in your group.
Good to know
- Phones talk directly, so range on a ship depends on where you are. Steel walls and decks block signals. You will have the best luck on the same deck and in open areas like the pool deck.
- Put your phone in airplane mode to avoid roaming charges, then turn Bluetooth and Wi-Fi back on. TalkGroup does not need cell service.
- Make the group before you split up.
Questions
Do I need to buy the ship's Wi-Fi?
No. TalkGroup never uses the internet.
Will it work from one end of the ship to the other?
Probably not. Ships are big and full of steel. Think of it as a walkie-talkie for the same deck or the same area.
Can kids use it?
Yes. TalkGroup has extra protections for people under 18, such as a warning before sharing their location.
