Talk to your group on the trail and at camp, with no bars
Trails and campsites often have no signal. TalkGroup lets your group talk push-to-talk between iPhones directly, with no cell service and no internet.
TalkGroup is coming soon to the App Store.
Off the grid, still in touch
Call out the turnoff, check on the back of the group, or tell camp dinner is ready. TalkGroup connects your group's iPhones directly, so it works where your phone shows no bars.
- No signal needed. Phones connect straight to each other.
- Pocket friendly. Built to keep going with the screen locked and your phone in your pocket.
- Quick signals. One tap sends On my way or Meet here, with your location if you choose.
- Find each other. The Find screen points you toward a friend who shared their location, using GPS and the compass, with no internet.
Good to know
- Phones talk directly, so the group works best within shouting distance to a little beyond it. Trees, rock, and hills shorten the range.
- TalkGroup is not a radio and not an emergency device. For backcountry trips, carry a proper satellite messenger or radio and tell someone your plans.
- Bring a battery pack. Turn on Battery saver to help your phone last.
Questions
Is this a replacement for two-way radios?
No. Radios reach much farther. TalkGroup is handy for keeping a group together nearby, with the phones and AirPods you already carry.
Does it need GPS signal?
Talking does not. The Find screen uses your phone's GPS, which works without cell service.
