Anywhere your Wi-Fi reaches
When everyone's phone is on the same Wi-Fi network, TalkGroup can reach anywhere that network does. It only uses the Wi-Fi itself, so it keeps working when the internet connection is slow or down.
- No radios to buy. Your team uses the iPhones and AirPods they already carry.
- Hands free. Turn on Open Mic and just talk, with no button to hold while your hands are full.
- Whisper. Talk to one person without the whole team hearing.
- Quick signals. One tap sends Come here or On my way when talking out loud does not fit.
- Private. Voice goes only between your team's phones, encrypted. There are no servers and no accounts.
Setting it up
- Make one group and invite your team by scanning its QR code. Up to 8 phones per group.
- Put everyone on your own Wi-Fi network. Guest and public networks often stop phones from reaching each other, so use the one your staff devices use.
- Away from Wi-Fi, phones still talk directly to each other within about 50 feet (15 meters).
- Get Permanent groups, a one-time upgrade, so the group stays on your phones from shift to shift.
Questions
Does it need the internet?
No. TalkGroup uses your Wi-Fi network to reach the other phones, not the internet. If the internet goes down, the staff radio keeps working.
Will it work on any Wi-Fi?
Most home and business networks work. Many guest, hotel, and public networks block phones from talking to each other, so TalkGroup cannot use them. Without Wi-Fi, phones talk directly within about 50 feet (15 meters).
How many people can be on it?
Up to 8 phones per group. You can make more than one group, like one for the kitchen and one for the floor.
Is it free?
Talking in groups is free. Optional one-time upgrades keep groups forever and add text chat.
